Share of equipment sold nudges 50%, but analysts said it could reach a ceiling - for all Windows Phone Nokia devices starting to make inroads

Android is back on the cruise control at the top of the smartphone market in the UK, after a surge in sales of Apple iPhone 4S dented his lead over Christmas.

New figures from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech covering the 12 weeks to 19 February 2012 that Android phones made up 48.5% of smartphones sold, as the proportion of smartphones combination of all mobile phone sales increased to 73.2%.

Brands, Apple has had the satisfaction rate highest, at 8.8, followed by Samsung - which makes mostly Android, but also Windows and mobile phone with 8.0-Bada. HTC makes Android devices and Windows Phone was third with 7.6. When people were asked if they would keep the same brand when you upgrade, Apple ranks first, followed by Samsung and HTC, the survey found.
