Social Location Service won 't know where are the users, but if they' re seeing

Burton 's newest partner is the British music startup Songkick whose database of music concerts are now in check-ins are made on the social situation integrated service' s mobile applications. Songkick is one of three new content partners for Four Square, with the two other ESPN for sports and films for MovieTickets.com.

According to Songkick chief executive Ian Hogarth, the deals will provide important additional context for people's activity on Foursquare. "When you check in to live music venues on Foursquare, it'll now display the bands playing there - the why along with the where," he says.

Previously Foursquare with music fans have questions limited to this place instead of reviewing events. For example, friends can see that they're at the Shepherds Bush Empire, but not that they '\ re just the Black Crowes, they indicate that in a comment.

Is automatically added to this context important? It can be used for music, film and sports industries, as may enable Burton to provide them with more useful data about this, observe what are concerts, movies and games to users, and provide space for artists, studios and teams to help people reward for checking in on specific events.

Songkick the deal is particularly interesting since social situation is now firmly on the music industry 's radar. In the U.S., MTV has just his MTV Live & Local App, check the fans, in order to promote performances started about Four Square. There are marketing campaigns with the rival Facebook Places service for Cheryl Cole and James Blunt, and there are even social situation apps focused purely on the music: Finnish Flowd Service and U.S. launch Superglued.

The growth of the song Kick 's own service, music fans alerts to upcoming gigs on their libraries and their friends \ base "activities has been fueled by its partnerships with other companies. Four Square is open to only the last to live List: Additional partners are SoundCloud, topspin, Roadie Mobile, Yahoo UK and PRS for Music.

The site claims the second-largest live-music site in the world behind only Live Nation / Ticketmaster, and its iPhone app generates more than 100,000 downloads in two weeks after his rlease in June 2011.

In May, said Hogarth, the Guardian, that was Songkick firmly on the discovery focused "because it 's still the biggest problem for the live music, and most people still miss concerts because they just didn' t to know about it ". The partnership with Four Square is just the latest manifestation of the company 's ambition.
