'dongle door "dominated the news PyCon. However, there was much to celebrate at the conference last week. A guard intrepid developer was there and what is its history
I had the chance to attend PyCon in Santa Clara last week. It is the world's largest conference for developers and users of the Python language (if you use Google or YouTube popular programming, watching movies Disney / Pixar or actually visit the Guardian, while using the services written in part with Python).
- related news conference "dongle-gate" widely reported: two male developers sexually suggestive jokes made about "fork" and "dongles" that offend participants woman sitting nearby. She tweeted a complaint with a picture of those involved, one subsequently lost his job. She also suffered the same fate in the next game.
- Despite this unfortunate incident, there was much to celebrate in PyCon:
- $ 6,000 was raised for charity by the participants involved in a fun 5K.
- volunteers ran two days of tutoring children are left with a RaspberryPi and free books. conversations were six tracks covering a wide range of topics for all levels of programming.
He encoding both collaboration during sprints after the conference.
