Election season starts to kick off again, then of course we will have another series of stories about the musicians complain about the politicians (who do not agree with) the use of their music in acts in the country. You remember that the Foo Fighters and Jackson Browne (among others) were dissatisfied with John McCain for using his music and the band Heart Sarah Palin complains of songs from the band. Most complaints relate to events rally, and almost all the allegations are false. Where music is used in a TV commercial (as was the case with Jackson Browne), legal aspects are a little more complicated (as far as McCain said the request), but when it comes to events, musicians do are not likely to be far away. This is because when the place has the appropriate ASCAP / BMI licenses the public performance, they can play the songs you want to cover. This has always been.

For all the talk (as many people have sent) by Tom Petty complain Michele Bachmann is the song used at campaign events, there is little legal basis to the complaint. The same applies to the application (also against Bachmann) Katrina and the waves. This is probably why Petty Bachmann seems to have ignored and is still music.

course, as noted above, even if no legal recourse, even surprising that presidential candidates do not achieve at least the first musicians. Because otherwise, they simply open a huge opportunity for musicians to generate headlines about how much I do not like a particular politician. Why not find some musicians who support and use of their music
