Pope sends tweets to officially announce the new Vatican is open to the public site for followers from all

Twitter Pope Benedict XVI for the first time, announcing the launch of an information portal with news from the Vatican.

"He was clearly in fear of new technology," said Jones. "This is a moment of relaxation, but also very important, marking a new means of communication."

Benedict XVI has been hampered by communication problems during most of his six year reign, largely because of a Vatican bureaucracy, not always communicate well internally.
Officials hope the new website, while designed primarily to provide news from the Vatican, in an easy to use with the outside world, can also improve communication within the Vatican itself by the exchange information.
