Two men arrested in South Yorkshire and Wiltshire, as part of international research on online piracy gang

Two men were arrested in connection with online attacks by gangs of hackers and LulzSec Anonymous said Scotland Yard.

The men, aged between 24 and 20, were arrested Thursday in Mexborough, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, Warminster, Wiltshire, conspiracy to commit offenses against the Computer Misuse, 1990.

Scotland Yard said the arrests were part of an ongoing investigation in collaboration with the FBI, South Yorkshire Police and other agencies of law enforcement in the activities of that person and LulzSec, especially in relation to alleged crimes under the cover of the online identity "Kayla."

A spokesman said the men were arrested separately. He said that the direction of Doncaster was wanted by the police and computer equipment was removed for forensic examination.


In a separate investigation two men were charged Thursday by online attacks by Anonymous, Scotland Yard said.

Christopher Weatherhead, 20, of Northampton, and Ashley Rhodes, 26, from Kennington, south London, were charged with conspiracy to commit an unauthorized act in relation to a computer.
police had charged a young man from Chester and 17 and a student of Peter David Gibson, 22, from Hartlepool, in conjunction with the same offenses.
