Last fall, after years and years of bickering and fighting, Congress and the President finally got together to adopt what they call a "patent reform" bill. While the Bill has made some changes to the operation of the works of the patent system, is almost completely ignored the issue of the patent or how destructive trawling patents for innovation. Even more ridiculous is that the President insisted that the bill would create new jobs. Perhaps for patent attorneys, but not for many others. Vivek Wadhwa wrote a great piece in the Washington Post noted that if we want a job growth , we have to deal with patent trolls, especially trolls software patents:
The president is wrong, at least regarding the patent system with respect to software patents. These patents and the patent system, not the creation of innovation, are inhibiting him and, by extension, job creation. Why? Because progress is not in patents, which are in the
