Day commemoration to include readings, hymns, the names of those who gave their lives and a minute of silence
a Remembrance Day service will take place on Twitter, Friday and Sunday, with 140 characters for the readings, hymns, the last message, the names of those who gave their lives and contributions of veterans.
The project, led by a group of Methodists, aims to bring together the traditional elements of prayer and worship with a numerical approach for people who can not attend a service or not normally do. It is believed the first time a memorial service at the site of micro-blogging.
- James Thomas, who thought Tweet Memory, said: "I got the idea on Wednesday night, wondering if it would be a two-minute silence on Twitter and then I thought, why no. have a life full of service
- "It's an opportunity to interact with people who otherwise would not, for whatever reason. Not everyone is able to go to a church and is an alternative to watch TV. It is also just to see if it works. "
Both services, which will begin at 10:15 am and observe silence in 11.11, are ecumenical and organizers say everyone is invited to participate. Tweet memory appears on Twitter @ Poppy_Tweet.
