Five people were accused of disclosing the identity of a woman raped by player Ched Evans on Facebook and Twitter, the service of the Crown Prosecution Service said.

The total number of people charged in line with the publication of material that is likely to lead to the identification of the victim is nine today.

Hollie Price, 25, from Prestatyn, Gemma Thomas, 18, of Istanbul, and Paul Devine, 26, Daniel Cardwell, 25, and Shaun Littler, 22, all from Sheffield, were accused , the prosecution said.

Jim Brisbane, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS Cymru Wales, said: "More critical evidence led us to the conclusion that there is sufficient evidence to indict the five Crime of the editorial material which could lead the public to identify the complainant in a rape case against the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act, 1992.

"As previous charges in this case, the Attorney General has consented to these processes.

"The five were charged by North Wales Police and bailed to appear before Prestatyn Magistrates Court on November 5.

"Comments on other suspects are being investigated by police in North Wales are continuing."
