Google OS has 60% or more of sales of mobile phones in the United States and major European countries, Nokia began to assert itself too

observation made by RIM CEO: "We have a clear opportunity to be number three in the platform market" on smartphones is threatened in Europe. A new study by Kantar Worldpanel ComTech has found that the low prices of Nokia phones are driving up the market share of Microsoft's Windows Phone, which begins to wonder about the BlackBerry for third place in Europe.

In Italy Windows Phone reached a share of 10.4% in the 12 weeks to 2 September 2012, the first time the platform has reached a market share in double figures in a country. RIM BlackBerry, however, has seen its share of 4.8% in the same period a year ago to just 3.5% this time.

market share gives an overview of sales, not the proportion or number of aircraft in service, known as the "installed base." Kantar figures also reflect consumers, not corporate sales.

through the "big five" EU countries - the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain and France - Windows Phone now shows 5% at one point a year ago, while RIM halved, from 12.2% to 6.4%.

But the challenge for platforms smaller dial is highlighted by data showing that the United States, combined Android and iOS were 93% of all smartphone sales in the period before the launch of the iPhone 5. In the 'big five' European countries, as well as iOS Android has a market share of 82.5%, most of which were Android, with 68.5%, while iOS holds a 14% stake.

Android
taking greater in emerging markets where Nokia Symbian and RIM's BlackBerry now deprecate had dominated.

Brazil had 47.1% of sales, against 19.6% a year ago - and extended beyond Symbian, which last year was 64.5% of sales business for the period of 12 weeks. This share fell to 26.7%, while Windows Phone has increased to 12.2%, suggesting that Nokia has a total market share of 38.9% there - almost certainly more than any competitor alone. RIM has increased its market share from 2.5% to 4.1%, in line with the overall growth of emerging markets in the last quarter.

Mexico, Android leads with a share of 37.3% (19.4% last year), reaching a 34.4% stake in RIM former leader at the same time passed last year. Although Symbian is down there, still holds 20.2% a - and from 2.7% to think that Nokia owns 22.9% in the country, while RIM has a 29 7%

In total, 57.6% of British mobile phone users have smartphones, which constitute 80.4% of all sales here in the 12-week period, Kantar said.
