planned space missions (both government and commercial), astronauts could be expanded menus - especially for passengers on flights of Virgin Galactic, one would expect more than a bag of peanuts their tickets. Here are just a few things that have already menus space.
  • Something unexpected
  • food consumed in space - such as sushi, pad smuggling, and a sandwich in secret hidden corned beef. Emeril Lagasse and Rachel Ray have also prepared some recipes to the dining area. [Url]
about 9 months before a mission, NASA astronauts begin to choose what to eat in space. Tang has not been designed for a space program, but the formula powder is a convenient way to store flavored drinks for spaceflight. NASA has approved beverages include coffee, tea, apple juice, orange juice and lemonade. [Url]

NASA has published information sheets about what astronauts eat in space. Random factoid: Skylab was apparently the only ship that offered both a freezer and a refrigerator to store food. [url]
