Johnston Press chief executive Ashley Highfield want to launch a series of "mini-bar TV stations ultra-local" for some of the smaller communities served by the company documents.

He believes that journalists issued with the latest smartphones could offer video content for Web sites of these channels and, in an interview on BBC Radio Scotland, said he expects that the amount of video content on JP sites more "massive" in the years to come.

noted HoldTheFrontPage reports that journalists are increasingly taking pictures, record videos and use social media like Twitter, instead of just writing stories.
