photographs purporting to show James Bulger killer were posted allegedly in violation of the order in the world

The Attorney General has opened an investigation after photographs showing alleged murderer Jon Venables had been posted on the Internet.

Venables was 10 when he and his partner Robert Thompson abducted and murdered James Bulger, two, Liverpool in February 1993. Both were sentenced to life in prison, but paroled in 2001 with new identities.

Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, Family Division of the Court of High, made an unprecedented court order prohibiting the publication of information that could lead to the release of their new identities.

"We can neither confirm nor deny whether the photos in question are Jon Venables. It should be noted, there is no order in the world in place that prevents the publication of any image or information that aim to identify someone like Jon Venables. "

Mother

Bulger, Denise Fergus, has made no comment on the alleged violation. However, it continues to oppose the injunction, fearing that it could lead to innocent men accused of being the murderers of his son.
