Nine people were fined after admitting to disclose the online identity of a woman raped by player Ched Evans.

Some of the accused also abused the victim line, calling her names like "fucking money grabbing" and "poor victim".

All said they had been aware that his appointment was a criminal offense. The law allows victims of alleged victims of rape and other sexual crimes anonymous for a lifetime.

Nita Dowell, prosecution, told the court that, after the conviction of Evans case had attracted a lot of interest nationally and internationally, with about 6,000 visits Twitter alone.

Dowell said the victim had been abused, and that North Wales Police received numerous complaints from citizens and groups such as Rape Crisis.

She said that the first accused to identify the victim had been the price, a professor of biology. The court heard he had retweeted a comment with the name of the victim, and said: ".. the money that the poor victim WTF fox call?"

The court heard Price told police that he was an "idiot" and wanted to apologize to the victim.
