Background Apple's decision not to use Google Maps in iOS 6, the software presented in September 2012

Q Why Apple use Google Maps before?

For 2005-06, when Apple was planning software for its next iPhone, Google was a neutral provider of map data - and also trying to develop in the rapid growth of the mobile industry. The only alternative provider would have been mapping Navteq, Nokia, but had made an offer for him in 2006 (the transaction was concluded in 2007). In addition, at the time Apple and Google had objectives that were at least parallel: Apple wanted to get into the mobile industry and create a profitable business there, Google wanted to get more mobile users (mobile because their leaders consider the future - something everyone in Silicon Valley had achieved in 2005), they wanted to stop Windows Mobile from Microsoft for consumer foot, and both were strong consumer brands

who left who?
You can argue both ways. Apple did not renew their license with Google, which still had a few months to run iOS 6 when implemented. However, Apple was also frustrated by the refusal of Google to provide access to voice-guided step by step vector graphics for navigation and mapping, Google says its own Android to give you an advantage. Google, meanwhile, was frustrated that he did not want Apple offers Latitude service, which keeps track of users through the cards. Apple could point to Google refuses to provide the features that we wanted to give users the best experience, Google could say that Apple also tried with each licensee (none of which can turn-by-turn or through vector graphics API)

We can say that the agreement is impossible, as soon as Google has become a direct competitor of Apple in space via Android smartphones, but the cracks are really only shown once started offering Android better mapping service (voice led tour tower vector graphics) iOS since the beginning of the year 2011.

Again, you can say that there are two. Google
lose access to the location and driving data

hundreds of millions of iOS users, but also lose the ability to sell ads based on the localization against unreasonable card iOS users to perform six. As Tim Cook said in mid-October that the devices were updated at 200m - against about 450 active iOS devices, Android devices and 500 - which is an important part of data that Google has lost, of especially as many of these users are in the United States, one of its key markets.

But Apple loses because

Maps opinions about your dented reputation
, and made him the butt of jokes that undermine their brand image through the long term. Customers are upset by the loss of functionality Google StreetView (though other applications can add this feature).
